7:00pm to 9:00pm
Monday evening club nights are our weekly social badminton event.
Come along and join us, all abilities are welcome. We have rackets available if you need one, and your first visit is FREE! You aren't required to stay the whole time.
The aim on Mondays is to have a bit of fun. We'll mix the games up so there is a good variety. If you're new to badminton, we'll give you a run down of the rules and show how to play. If you prefer to learn on the job, then you'll pick it up on court! Or maybe you prefer to try badminton out with some friends first?
Monday evenings are open to both members and casual players. The minimum age is 16 years.
Bring some non-marking shoes. Most modern sneakers are now non-marking. A drink bottle is recommended! There is a kitchen, bathrooms, and showers!
I have no idea what I am doing! Can I still come along?
Yes - we love meeting new players and introducing them to badminton. The games are made up by the club captains, who will match newbies up with players that we know will give them a helping hand to get them up and running.
6:30pm to ~9:00pm
The Wednesday Ladder Competition involves competitive games against players of a similar ability. Higher-quality shuttles are used for this session! Bring your racket.
At the start of the evening players are divided into groups, based on their current ladder ranking. That group of players will then play games in all combinations against each other, keeping score for each of the games.
At the end of the evening all the scores are recorded and are used to determine your position on the ladder for the following week. If you miss a week, you fall of the ladder!
Be at the hall prior to the 6:30pm start to allow for grouping. You should be prepared to play until all game combinations on your court are complete, therefore there is no fixed end-time! New players start at the bottom of the ladder.
This is a competitive event! Players are in it to win it! Don't be surprised if the games are tough and no-one cuts you any slack.
For the benefit of everyone playing the Ladder Competition, there is an expectation that players will have a basic understanding of badminton rules and etiquette and will have some ability on the court.
